The Art of Middle Eastern Dance
Ya Amar School of Dance offers instruction of Raqs Sharqi (commonly referred to as Bellydance) as well as various styles of social/folkloric Middle Eastern dance. Our instructors are known not only for their exceptional technique and teaching methods, but also their in-depth knowledge of cultural context and history. Classes are offered for all levels of students, whether you are stepping into your first class or you're a seasoned dancer with years under your hipscarf. We offer a warm and welcoming experience to all our students, with classes that are fun, dynamic, and challenge both your body and mind.

Join me for this 5-week series where we'll dig into delicious musicality and expression to some of my favourite classic songs by iconic Arab singers.
Elegant and soulful raqs sharqi is on the menu for this class series. We'll play with the subtle layers in the music, and look at how we can make impactful movement choices and create visual texture.
Classic movements to classic songs, but with unique and artistic finishing touches.

Once I've receive the payment, you'll be sent a link which allows you to join the class(es) on Zoom. Please be sure to register and pay for the class at least 24 hours in advance to allow time for processing. *etransfer option available for Canadians*
CONNECT TO ZOOM AND TEACHABLE
LIVE CLASSES: You'll receive an email with the link to Teachable for your course, you'll find the Zoom class link and password in the course curriculum.
Once the class has started make sure you “mute” your microphone in the Zoom platform. We will stop for questions every 10-15min, where you'll be able to turn on your mic. You can choose to join with or without activating your video, but remember I won't be able to give corrections and feedback if I can't see you. After you've registered, you'll be sent a link to the Teachable website which allows you to view all the recorded classes included in your package. Specialty Workshop can be viewed for 2 weeks, and monthly pass classes are viewable for the month you register plus a week. note: purchase of a single class does not come with recording access.
